CORONA AL CAFFE'

Ingredienti      

Per l’impasto:
500 g farina bianca
150 g zucchero
1 cucchiaino colmo di caffè macinato fine (5 g)
2 uova
50 ml liquore al caffè
75 g burro fuso
1 bustina Lievito

Per l’interno:
25 ml caffè ristretto
25 g cioccolato fondente grattugiato
Zucchero al velo  per spolverizzare

Preparazione

• Setacciare la farina sul piano del tavolo. Al centro del mucchio praticare una buca e mettervi zucchero, caffè macinato, uova, liquore al caffè, burro fuso e, per ultimo, il lievito.
• Incorporare il tutto con la farina rimanente ed impastare rapidamente, fino ad ottenere un impasto liscio.
• Porre in frigorifero per circa 30 minuti.
• Stendere l’impasto con un matterello in una sfoglia , spennellare la superficie con il caffè ristretto e distribuire il cioccolato tritato, lasciando vuoto mezzo cm di bordo dal lato più lungo, ed arrotolare delicatamente l’impasto.
• Tagliare il dolce in 18 rondelle circa  e disporle in uno stampo a ciambella (diametro 24 cm) imburrato ed infarinato.
• Cuocere per 35 minuti circa nella parte inferiore del forno preriscaldato (elettrico: 180°C, ventilato: 170°C, a gas nella parte media: 190°C).
• Spolverizzare con lo zucchero al velo il dolce raffreddato.

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

Since i decide to get Japan i decide to get one of the 2 places where the atom bombs was dropped

I picked Hiroshima just becouse it was more close to Kyoto  where i was staying so i thought to get Nagasaki for my Next Visiti in japan .Since I got .....Pace Memorial Park  a weird feeling of sadness keeps coming over me ........till i Saw those: .......a warm touch of Love, Hope & Pace .

Those Origami Cranes are Made by school children all over japan and from all over the world .

Meaning  About Thousand origami cranes 千羽鶴, Senbadsuru is a group of one thousand origami paper cranes held together by strings. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures (others include the dragon and the tortoise), and is said to live for a thousand years. In Japan, it is commonly said that folding 1000 paper origami cranes makes a person's wish come true. This makes them popular gifts for special friends and family.

But There s something more About this Place and  千羽鶴, Senbadsuru ,and to be honest I didn t know about it till now but my deep love for  this Country and its culture made me always read and search about it so i discovered  it : It s  The Story About All This Thousand Origami & Sadako Sasaki.

 Sasaki Sadako  佐々木 禎子 January 7, 1943 – October 25, 1955) was a Japanese girl who was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, near her home by Misasa Bridge in Hiroshima, Japan. Sadako is remembered through the story of attempting to fold a thousand origami cranes before her death, a wish which was memorialized in popular culture.


Sadako was at home when the explosion occurred, about one mile from Ground Zero. In November 1954, Sadako developed swellings on her neck and behind her ears. In January 1955, purple spots had formed on her legs. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with leukemia (her mother referred to it as "an atom bomb disease").She was hospitalized on February 21, 1955, and given, at the most, a year to live.



On August 3, 1955, Sadako's best friend Chizuko Hamamoto came to the hospital to visit and cut a golden piece of paper into a square to fold it into a paper crane, in reference to the ancient Japanese story that promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. A popular version of the story is that Sadako fell short of her goal of folding 1,000 cranes, having folded only 644 before her death, and that her friends completed the 1,000 and buried them all with her. This comes from the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. An exhibit which appeared in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum stated that by the end of August, 1955, Sadako had achieved her goal and continued to fold more cranes.


Though she had plenty of free time during her days in the hospital to fold the cranes, she lacked paper. She would use medicine wrappings and whatever else she could scrounge up. This included going to other patients' rooms to ask to use the paper from their get-well presents. Chizuko would bring paper from school for Sadako to use.


During her time in the hospital her condition progressively worsened. Around mid-October her left leg became swollen and turned purple. After her family urged her to eat something, Sadako requested tea on rice and remarked "It's good." Those were her last words. With her family around her, Sadako died on the morning of October 25, 1955 at the age of 12.

akachōchin 。。。 Izakaya 居酒屋

Some traditional lighting u can find in japan are called akachōchin  赤ちょうちん it marks an Izakaya .

Izakaya 居酒屋  is a type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. They are popular, casual places for after-work drinking.

The name "izakaya" is a compound word consisting of "i" (to sit) and "sakaya" (sake shop), showing that izakaya originate from sake shops that allowed customers to sit at the premises to drink.

Izakaya are sometimes called akachōchin  赤ちょうちん(red lantern) in daily conversation, because these paper lanterns are traditionally found in front of an izakaya.

ｶｽﾃﾗ Mattcha Green Tea Kasutera Or Castella

Finally I made ｶｽﾃﾗ  ^^  mogu mogu mogu!!


カステラ, Kasutera  or Castella is a popular Japanese sponge cake made of sugar, flour, eggs, and starch syrup, very common at festivals and as a street food.

Now a specialty of Nagasaki, the cake was brought by way of Portuguese merchants in the 16th century. The name is derived from Portuguese Pão de Castela, meaning "bread from Castile".
In the 16th century, the Portuguese reached Japan, and soon started trade and missionary work. Nagasaki was then the only Japanese port open for foreign commerce. The Portuguese introduced many then-unusual things, such as guns, tobacco, and pumpkins and castella. It was able to be preserved for a long period of time, and so was useful for the sailors who were out on the sea for months. In the Edo Period, in part due to the cost of sugar, it was an expensive dessert. When the Emperor of Japan's envoy was invited, the Tokugawa Shogunate presented the Castella.

 Ingredientes

This was my fisrt Experiment i m gonna Try other Recipe From japanese web site

2 Tbsp milk

2 Tbsp honey
4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar *180gr
3/4 cup bread flour, sifted **actually i used Whole meal Plain flour*
1Tbsp Mattcha Green Tea

Preheat the oven in 360 degrees F.

Mix honey in warm milk and set aside.


Whisk eggs in a large bowl using an electric hand-mixer, adding sugar gradually.
Place the bowl over warm water in another large bowl.
Further, whisk eggs until become almost white.

Mix the milk and honey mixture in the batter.

Add sifted flour in the bowl and mix gently with a spatula.

Pour the batter in the loaf pan and tap the pan gently on the table to release any air bubbles.

.Bake at 360 degrees F for about 10 minutes and turn down oven to 280-300 degrees F and bake for about 40 minutes.
 To check if the cake is done, poke it with a bamboo skewer. If it comes out clean it's done.

cool the cake.

Wrap the cake with plastic wrap and store until the next day. It tastes better the next day.
Cut the kasutera into  thick slices.

COOKIES F.R.I.E.N.D.S

INGREDIENTIES

1 cup (226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

2/3 cup (135 grams) granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon lemon or orange zest  OR lemon flavour
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups (295 grams) all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

In the bowl of your electric mixer beat the butter and sugar  the egg, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.  

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat just until incorporated.

Divide the dough in half and shape each half

Wrap each log in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until firm (at least two hours or overnight).

Once the log is firm, with a sharp knife, slice cookies about 5 cm  thick. 

 Can also place the logs in the freezer for up to two months.

 You can then make cookies on demand by removing log from freezer and slicing off as many cookies as   you  like. Return the log to the freezer.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Place oven rack in the center of the oven Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool.

Panelle Siciliane

Ingredients
200 cheeckpeas flour \  Gram flour
2tsp salt
1\8 cup  parsley
1\2 liter cold water
oil for frying


Mix 200 grams of chickpea flour, 2 teaspoon’s of salt’ 1/8 cup of chopped parsely and ½ liter of cold water stirring until the flour is melted. Put on medium \ slow flame to cook, stirring continuously, so lumps do not form. Cook for about 25 minutes. When ready, take off of stove and spread out on a cold surface like on a countertop, spreading out until about ¼ inch thick. Let stand to cool off then cut into shapes desired.


Deep-fry in corn oil until golden brown.

Japanese - Yaki-gyōza 焼き餃子

Japanese Yaki-gyōza  焼き餃子  

Gyoza or Dumpling are  my fav. Japanese dish :) i got them when i was living in japan ... and i fall in love with them :)

Finally i  made it ....

Ingredients     

                         

250g . ground pork                                    

2 medium  onions   or scallions                                                 

1\2 cabbage

1 thumb-size piece of ginger or 

1\2 dried tsp
2 garlic cloves
2 Tbs. soy sauce
1 Tbs.  sesame oil
4 packs of gyoza skins

1tlsp sesame oil for frying
water

For dipping sauce:

 soya souce  , sesame oi l, chili ,  rice vinegar & minced scallions .


Finely grate  the cabbage and the green onions ,  the ginger and garlic cloves; add soya souce, sesame oil . Mix all the ingredients . Let marinate for about and hour .

I made my dumpling using ...dumpling press .

To steam-fry the dumplings, heat up a frying pan with a tblsp sesame oil
Put the dumplings flat side down into the pan, Cook over high heat for a couple of minute
Lower the heat to low.

Now, pour the water into the pan and immediately put the lid on. Let the dumplings cook
When the water is almost all gone, turn the heat up to high to evaporate .
 Serve crispy side up on a plate.

If u want freeze extra gyoza, put them in a palstic conteiner .

Japanese Veg - Curry with Tonkastu light Version

         +











            Ingredients 
  4 med  - carrots - 1 onion
  1 med  potato - 1 cube veg stock

  boiled water
  1 box japanese curry roux  

  (I like  medium hot)

Heat olive oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until onion is tender, about a few minutes. Add carrot and stir-fry with onion
Add water, stir well  for about 15 minutes,  until carrot is tender.
 Dissolve blocks of Japanese curry roux in the soup and stir lightly. 

Add  Chicken cutlets .....Rosted with herbs & Bread Crumbs & Steamed rice .

The Boy in The Striped Pyjama.......Jhon Boyne & Movie

I Really  enjoyed  the Book.....
after watched the movie i could get  that  soo many things have been missed  ; this  make the book  Much Much  better (some time Sad and funny at the same time ) and special about this story


 This is how Bruno describe ........The Fury ( Führer)
that s how a child s eyes saw him (awesome) in  the book .....The fury doesn t appear in the movie :(

The fury was far shorter then father ..and not bruno supposes quiet as strong .He had dark hair, which was cut  quite short and a tiny moustace .....Soo tiny in fact that bruno wondered why he bothered with it at all or whether he had simply forgotten a piece when he was shaving.......

This is my favourite part

(Eva  enjoys the dinner in bruno s house with the fury ) and when  he got the dining room and sat dawn ....

he shouted : EVA!!! clicking his Figers as if she were some sort of puppy Dog (ahahahhahaahahahaa)

I Also watched the movie and there r soo many differences like this ....that i really loved reading the book  and i didn t get in the movie Suckkkkkk

The relashionship with his sister Gretel.....The Hopeless Case (lol)
Bruno didn t like to admit that he was a little scared of her ....she had some nastry habits....she had a large collection of dolls on slelves around her room that stared at  bruno when he went inside and followed him around watching whatever he did he was sure that if he went exploring in her room when she was out of the house they would report back to her on everything he did .......she had some very unpleasant friends too...

The aircut ......on the movie Bruno doesn t get any cut hair ....
-Book-- Bruno get Gretel s room ........bruno was interrupted by the sound og greetel breacking onto a piercing scream ;  ''One that woke up mother up from her afteernoon nap and brought her running into the bedroom to find out  which of her children had mordered the other one''  LOL
While experimenting with her  hair gretel has found a tiny egg ...it turned out that both had to be treated with a special shampoo that smelled horrible.....but then father decided that the best thing was for him to start afresh and he got a razor and shaved all bruno s hair off wich made bruno cry .....but when he saw himself in the mirror bruno thinks how much like shmuel he looked now and he wondered whether all the people on theat side on the fence had lice as well and that was wht all theyr heads were shaved too
when he saw his friend the  next day shmuel staryted to laught at bruno s appearence......

 After got inside the fence Bruno had an urge  to give shmuel a huge, just to let him know how much he liked him and how much he 'd enjoyed talking to him over the lat year
Shmuel had a urge to give Bruno a huge too just to thank him for all his many kindnesses and his gift of food and the fact to help him to find papa .

Super sized: The new 31oz Trenta cup will be available in the U.S. from May - but it's not coming to Britain because there isn't the demand for it
If one cup is never enough, it will be music to your ears.
 which is more than one-and-a-half pints of coffee.
The super size 31oz serving is nearly a quarter of a gallon of the black stuff. An imperial pint is a comparatively small 20oz, while its American equivalent is 16oz.
And the Trenta will be 8fl oz larger than the Venti cup for drinks, which currently is its largest size on offer.
Seattle-based Starbucks tested the new extra large size in several U.S. cities last year, and said it was responding to customer demand for larger cold beverages.
But the Trenta will not be introduced in the UK where customers seem content with the current range on offer, the company said.

Starbucks currently offers four sizes for its drinks: the 8oz Short, the 12oz Tall, the 16oz Grande and the Venti which is 20oz in the UK and 22oz in the U.S.

The coffee company was unable to say how much caffeine would be in the super size cup, but given the Trenta has around 300mg when filled with an iced beverage, customers will probably only need that one cup to keep them awake most of the day - and half the night.

The new venture from Starbucks is part of the firm’s attempt to move beyond being a basic coffee chain.

Authorities don't want him promoting his healthy eating campaign

He has been banned from every single school in LA but Jamie Oliver won’t let that get in the way of mission to change the eating habits of people in America.
And although his healthy eating scheme may be facing opposition he managed to attract a crowd as he opened Jamie’s Kitchen in Westwood California earlier this week.

Jamie,35, invited the residents of Los Angeles to his kitchen to learn more about his mission, where he hopes to change the perceptions and the diets of the people across the state.
But his mission was nearly over before it had properly began and he has been banned from every school in the state.

He told People magazine: ‘Currently, the L.A. School District won’t let me near a single school, but we’re going to try to get around that.’
‘Really, my job is trying to inspire people to educate people, but also get them to have clearer opinions about stuff, and stir up a little bit of trouble where some of the bag guys are getting away with murder.’





His work in L.A. builds on the first series of ABC’s Food Revolution, which won an Emmy award for managing to overhaul the school meals served in Huntington, the town dubbed America’s unhealthiest city.

But his mission has been halted by Los Angeles Unified Schools District (LAUSD) who have refused to let him into schools, leaving Jamie hoping he can get parents on board.
‘Reality TV has a formula,’ Robert Alaniz, L.A. Unified spokesman, told the LA Times, ’you either have to have drama or create conflict to be successful. We're not interested in either.’


At the moment Jamie’s Kitchen will aim to provide information, support and cooking classes for parents in the area as well as rally around to get his mission across and he is hoping, allow him access to just one school in the area.

The temporary kitchen will also serve as a television studio but he admits there is only so much he can do from there, he told reporters from LA Weekly: ‘If the cameras don’t see it (unhealthy eating in schools) the public don’t see it. That’s my problem.’
But judging by the queue outside Jamie’s Kitchen earlier in the week, which snaked around the corner of the building all hope isn’t lost and the chef seems to have some following in the area.


The food campaigner mingled with the people in the queue and chatted to a number of people before entering the building.

There he donned his chef’s apron and spoke to the attendees about his vision for their town.
Later Jamie was seen filming parts of his show with him talking to members of the crowd.
After the opening Jamie posted a plea to parents on his facebook page asking them to write to LAUSD board members within the next 24 hours to appeal their decision.
But two days later the page had just 17 likes and just 18 posts saying they had complied with his requests.

Non lontano dalla spiaggia a west di un villaggio un ragazzo incontra una donna
qsta gli chiede se avesse mai visitato il templio sull isola
il ragazzo rispose di no
cosi disse al ragazzo:
Vai e dimmi cosa ne pensi ???
il ragazzo si sedette lungo la spiaggia guardando l orizonte ma l unica cosa ke riusciva a vedere era l orizonte il cielo blu e l oceano
allora si avvicinò ad un pescatore e gli kiese se lui avessse mai sentito parlare di quell  isola e di quel templio;
l uomo rispose ke tanto ma tanto tempo fa un terremoto aveva sommerso l isola portando il templio cn se ma ke nonostatne cio si potevano ancora sentire le campane di quel templio
il ragazzo torno cosi alla spiaggia cercando di sentire il suono delle campane ma l unica cosa ke riusciva a sentire erano le onde del mare e i gabbiani ;
cosi torno il giorno dopo pensando amareggiato alle bugie ke la donna le avea detto e kiedendosi il perke ma senza avere una risposta!!
 Il ragazzo ogni giorno andava su qlla spiaggia  cercando di sentire qlle campane
credeva ke se le avesse sentite sarebbe potuto scendere giù in fondo al mare e trovare un tesoro.
I mesi passarono e il ragazzo perse interesso per tutto cio ke lo circondava la scuola i gioki stava perdendo la sua infanzia  ;  i suoi compagni di scuola lo deridevano dicendo ke aveva solo paura di giocare cn loro xk nn sarebeb stato alla loro altezza.ma alui poco importava !!
6 mesi dopo il ragazzo pur andando alla spiaggia tuttii i giorni continuava a nn sentire nessun suono cosi il pescatore gli dissse ke tutti  loro riuscivano a sentire le campane;  ma forse solo perke loro erano pescatori .
Il ragazzo decise allora ke se cosi era lui sarebbe diventato un pescatore cosi un giorno avrebbe potuto sentire il suono delle campane di quel templio .
La sera seguente tornò su qlla spiaggia e salutò perl ultima volta  l'oceano riuscendo come sempre a sentire il suono delle ode del mare i gabbiani e il  fruscio del vento  tra le palme degli alberi ke lo circondavano .
Il ragazzo torno alla sua infanzia fatta di giochi e tutto ciò che un ragazzo può avere alla sua età ed era felice xk era tornato a vivere cm un ragazzino dovrebbe fare.
Gli anni passarono e il ragazzo divenne un uomo ,un giorno decise di tornare sulla spiaggia di quel villaggio dove aveva speso motlo tempo della sua infanzia e mentre camminava su quella spiaggia rivide qlla donna ke tanto tempo fa le aveva parlato di quel tempio e di qlle campane e le chiese :
cosa fai qui??
 lei rispose:
ti stavo aspettando !!
la donna era sempre la stessa nonostante  fossero passati tanti anni .
la donna teneva  tra le mani un quaderno  di pagine bianche e mostrandolo al ragazzo gli disse
scrivi :
A WARRIOR OF LIGHT '' valorizza gi occhi di un bambino perke sono in grado di vedere il modo senza amarezze ; qndo vuole capire se la persona accanto merita la sua  fiducia  lui prova a guardarlo come farebbe un bambino !!
cos ' è un Warrior of light ti kiederai ??le disse la donna ; lo sai  già continuò sorridendo
UN GUERRIERO   è colui  capace di capire il  miracolo della vita , di lottare fino ala fine per qlkosa in cui crede - e..... di sentire il suono delle campane ke le onde dell oceano suonano in fondo al  mare!!
Ognuno di noi  è capace di tutto ciò   ma nessuno è capace di vedere se stesso come un guerriero un warrior of light ..........'' we all are...tutti lo siamo
allora la donna porgendole il quaderno disse al ragazzo
